Today we find ourselves at post number five in my Sources of Inspiration Series (Number One, Number Two, Number Three & Number Four). It has been a while since I have shared a collection of the insanely creative design portfolios that I have stumbled upon lately. Whether the work is commissioned or self initiated, each portfolio contains some of the most expressive and creative work I have found in a while.

Just as a side note: In the past I have received a number of negative comments regarding the websites themselves, and I will not be responding to any such comments. This is not a series about the sites, so if you do not like them then maybe this article is not for you. That said, enjoy the amazing work located within the portfolios below.

Today we find ourselves at post number four in my Sources of Inspiration Series (Number One, Number Two & Number Three). As always this roundup aims to showcase the amazingly creative work of each portfolio’s owner. Each portfolio has its own strengths and weaknesses however one thing remains consistent among them all, the quality of the work contained within.

For some time now I have been working on redesigning my portfolio site. Like many designers, I have found it extremely hard to narrow down one direction and have completed more than four developmental versions of the site that have all been scrapped. In an effort to finally get it right (On the fifth try) I have been doing some extensive research into what makes a successful and visually interesting portfolio site. So lately I have been searching the web in search of the most inspirational portfolios I can find, and rather than keep all the results to myself we find ourselves at post number three in my Sources of Inspiration Series (Number One & Number Two).

In addition there have been a number of great articles written on how to design the perfect portfolio site. Each one has helped me to define what the actual goals of my new portfolio will be, something that I had thought of in the past, however for some reason forgot along the way.

After a minor absence from posting over the week due to a new project I have been working on (which I can’t explain until next week) I have collected another great bunch of design portfolios from around the world… or if you are looking for some amazing portfolio websites check out my original sources of inspiration article. As you may or may not know, I have been looking away from the typical website design galleries for inspiration lately. Because of this I have begun a new bi-weekly segment which (for the time being) is being called Sources of Inspiration. Rather than going to a design gallery site looking for inspiration and digging through the submissions, I am doing a large portion of the work for you by going straight to the designers themselves. I will be rounding up some of the best / most inspirational portfolios on the web, and collecting them here just for you. Saving you from all the glossy web 2.0 filler in the process!
