I am happy to share the sixth installment of the Amazing Websites series. Originally when I started this series, the main concept was to showcase sites that were well designed, interesting, and most importantly did not look “2.0ish.” Luckily for us all the common traits that were shared amongst the majority of web 2.0 sites has begun to fade. This was the easiest time for me the assemble a list of sites so far. That being said, I am left contemplating where this series will go from here? If you have any ideas for the future of the series or just want to remark about the included sites (try to be positive please) then lets hear it in the comments below.

I dig (hmm, I think that phrase might be unusable now) the new design! Really nice.
For the “Share This Page” bit are you using a plugin or did you just hardcode the link for each site+php for the current post address?
I really like the simplicity and effectiveness of the Davroc site.
The screenshot doesn’t match up with North Pole Speed Record - I think you want http://www.ryanromero.ca/

@kristarella, thanks for the heads up I put the wrong image link in there.
To answer your question… I just hard coded the links into the site because all of the plugins that I found suffered from serious feature bloat.

Great collection yet again, I think my fave is Exile Designs, so clean and crisp. Nice post.

Liam, my personal favorite is the enRoute Film Festival. The design has a ton of character and the illustration is extremely well done. I totally agree that Exile Designs strength is its clean yet expressive design.

What’s funny is that I keep finding 1 or 2 sites from your lists just a few days before you post the list. I came across the TN one 2 days ago researching at my job and it’s happened before.
strange.
idk where to take it except keep doing it and thank god the 2.0 look is losing more and more ground. way played out.
maybe you could focus on certain styles. like typography, specific colors, grunge, clean, no gradients, clever uses of gradients.. stuff like that.
take parts of the “not 2.0” look and do posts focusing on just them maybe.

David, thanks for the advice I think that you have a really good idea there and I may do exactly that.
